My Dislike about DMD: |

At my current age, the one thing I don't like about having DMD is that I
cannot go up the stairs as fast as other kids. I hate being left behind. |

My Family: |

I have a little sister, big sister, brother-in-law, nephew and niece
that I love very much. I love my mommy and daddy and they love me too. I am very
fortunate to have parents like them because they take good care of me. They have
taken me to Cincinnati, OH where the best doctors in the USA treat Duchenne Muscular
Dystrophy. They have run in 1/2 marathons, raising thousands of dollars for research
to find a cure or treatment for DMD. They also are part of the Kick for a Cure
family…both on the committee and my dad maintains this website. I am lucky to have
my mommy and daddy who are proactive and are fighting to help save me and other's
like me. I don't know what I would do without them! |
Team Micah
(My Team!): |

Team Micah was originally created by my mom in 2006. She was the
first in my family to run a 1/2 marathon in honor of me. She raised $1100
on her own towards research. In 2007, my dad and big sister decided to join in.
Then, my brother-in-law joined the team and so did 5 other close friends of our family.
Team Micah, in 1 year, grew from 1 person up to 9…and in 2007, they raised
a combined $11,974 to help fight DMD!
Now, Team Micah will grow again as they will be playing together in an Adult
Co-Ed division at Kick for a Cure. Watch for them (and me!) and say hello at the
next tournament. I know they would love to thank you for your participation in Kick
for a Cure as you are helping to make a difference in the lives of boys like
me…and our families!!! |
